6 Tasty meals that wont bust the family budget

While rummaging around my kitchen the other day I discovered a Jamie Oliver cook book I wasn't even aware I had. Save with Jamie is a book I wish had realised I had ages ago, instead of receiving it as a Christmas present years ago and then forgetting about it. One of the great things about the book is that it has recipes for what it calls 'Motherdishes'. This is where it has a recipe for say, a roast chicken followed by lots of ideas for what to do with the leftovers. That is the kind of money saving tip that will save your family a fortune. We often cook a Sunday dinner with grand plans to use the leftovers all week. However the truth is we mostly just look at leftovers on Monday with a vacant look on Monday and chuck it in the bin. This is definitely the sort of book that we need to give us a few ideas for mid week meals.

Ill leave a link here for the book which you can get a used version of on Amazon for a crazy cheap price, literally for £3-4. Check out the book below.

Here's my 6 favourite meals from this great book. I've tried to pick the most hearty meals that will make sure the family leaves the table happy and full, but most importantly will help keep your families bank account healthy!

Gorgeous sticky ribs can also be economical and who doesn't love ribs especially when it doesn't break the bank. Quick and easy to cook they will put a smile on the kids faces.

This rustic meal is super tasty, but also super on budget. Serve it with toasted bread rubbed with tomato and garlic. Yes that all sounds kinda posh, but its good solid family food.

My family is a sucker for Asian flavours and this is definitely a favourite of theirs. Chicken wings are super cheap but are always a finger food favourite.

Yes KFC is awesome, but its also kinda pricey. Save a little money by making it a version yourself. The book contains a great version of the chicken bucket, meaning you can spend the extra on say, some treats for the kids.

There's just something great about having a nice hunk of meat on the bone and even better shin is great value. My family likes this super spicy but obviously you can go for the hardly any chilli cowards version. Unless your feeling brave....

If your in a rush and don't have much time for prep this delicious budget meal. You literally pop all the ingredients in, mix and pop it in the oven. Super simple and tasty.

The book is full of ideas that will get the chef in your family excited as well as keeping whoever controls the purse strings very happy.
