Welcome to my new (ish) blog. I thought the best and quickest way to let to know what I'm all about is to tell you about my favourite film is. So here we go.
Its hard to remember the very first movie I watched but I'm pretty sure it wasn't Jaws. But Jaws is the one movie that has made the biggest impact on me. It's a movie that gets better and better with every showing.
I remember my first viewing being on a school night on my tiny little tv I had in my room. I was somewhat familiar with Spielberg from E.T. and Indiana Jones, but Jaws had never appealed to me. If only I had known what I had been missing out on. From the the moment that skinny dipper got taken under the water I was hooked. Yes the shark looked fake, but that didn't matter, it was the way Spielberg amped up the tension by mostly keeping the shark hidden to the end which makes it essential viewing. The last half hour is as close to perfection in a a movie as I can conceive, and is one ending I can watch over and over again.
I'm sure that over the next few blog posts you will notice that I will talk about Spielberg a hell of a lot and ill make no apologies for it. His movie have shaped my vision on film should be.
So get ready and lets enjoy the wonders of film together.
